Arknights: Endfield is about to get a lot easier to find. Hypergryph has confirmed that its 3D strategy RPG is coming to Steam, adding a second PC storefront for a game that went global on January 22, 2026. The studio dropped that news next to the details for Version 1.5, "Dreamscape of Wind and Snow," which rolls out in September with a new map, playable characters and free rewards.

Endfield cleared 30 million preregistrations before it launched, so the Steam move reads as overdue rather than surprising. Until now you could play it on PlayStation 5, iOS, Android and PC through the Epic Games Store. The new listing puts it in front of the crowd where most Western PC players actually build their libraries.

What Version 1.5 actually gives you

"Dreamscape of Wind and Snow" is set for September 2, 2026 (UTC+8), and it aims straight at anyone who put hours into the original Arknights.

Typhoeus headlines the patch. Longtime fans will know the Operator, and they join the roster as the story pushes the Endministrator into a supernatural Snowy Forest. The update also opens a new explorable region built around Suiming, which you work through with a repeating time loop instead of a straight run from one end to the other.

Here is what lands with it:

  • Typhoeus, a returning Arknights Operator, added as a playable character
  • A new Snowy Forest region tied to the main story
  • A time loop system for exploring Suiming
  • Purrchena, an Operator you can recruit for free during the update

A free Operator is the standard goodwill move for a live service game trying to keep newer commanders invested, and the timing here is no accident. It arrives exactly as Steam brings a wave of fresh eyes.

Why the Steam launch matters for players

Endfield already covers console, mobile and PC, but Steam is where most Western PC players keep their libraries and wishlists. Being there hands Hypergryph a discovery engine the Epic listing could never match, plus reviews, forums and a recommendation algorithm that can carry a game for months.

The timing looks deliberate. Shipping on Steam alongside a content drop means newcomers land in a game that is actively growing instead of one sitting in a quiet stretch. It also says Hypergryph trusts its update cadence enough to invite a whole new platform to poke at it.

If you only know the original Arknights, expect a different feel. Endfield swaps tower defense for real time squad combat and open field exploration, so the strategy DNA survives, just stretched across a full 3D world.

The takeaway

Between the Steam launch and "Dreamscape of Wind and Snow," Endfield is doing the two things a young live service game has to do at once: widening the funnel and feeding the players already there. A fan favorite Operator plus a free recruit should keep current commanders busy, and Steam gives lapsed and curious players an easy way in. Seven months after launch, this looks less like a victory lap and more like the actual start.
